The generator is running very low on gas, and I’ve drained the spare tank, so I’ll be closing shortly at Tyee Landing before it quits on me.
Upcoming schedule is sparse. The hospital is having their own BBQ on Thursday, so I won’t be there, but will be closed instead. I’ll be open shorter hours at Tyee Landing until after I’ve had some discussions with the Port Authority.
It seems there is a large event at Harbour Quay. Unfortunately, although Tyee Landing is visible from there, I guess it’s a little inconvenient for people to come visit. Nobody here. At all.
I’m starting to feel somewhat negative about this location. Especially since there still isn’t much here. It’s basically a parking lot with two benches. Not even a single table. The Port Authority even removed ALL the picnic tables that they brought over for Port Day, instead of trying to make Tyee Landing more welcoming. I’m simply not seeing the kind of activity or attempts to add the infrastructure I’d expect if someone really wanted to attract businesses like mine.
I don’t know any more. Guess I’ll give the Port Authority a little more time to act, but I know I’m not going to wait all summer. I’ll be more than willing to come back for events, but Tyee Landing as a permanent location is very unfortunately not looking that promising.
Due to circumstances only partially within my control, we’ll be closed on Friday. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just some administrative details that need to be done, and if I can get it all done in one day it will help make future Bistro Breizh be able to provide a more varied menu, AND be more reliable, I hope.
Seems folks at the hospital aren’t that hungry today. Which means I feel comfortable closing a little early in order to go talk to some bankers about how to communicate.
Closing today at 14:15 (2:15 pm). Come get some, or go hungry.
Hey! Bistro Breizh is back to what some might consider “normal”, in that the billig (crêpe griddles) are finally all fixed up so we can work a full schedule again! Yay!
Special this week
Salmon Lox on a Spinach and Goat Cheese galette. We get our lox from Seadrift Fishmarket in Nanaimo. Always open to sources of quality ingredients closer to Port Alberni of course, so suggestions welcome!
Schedule for June 15-18
Thursday (15 June) at West Coast General Hospital, 10:30 to 15:00 ish.
